Urokinase is a highly specific alkaline protease isolated from the urine of healthy males, primarily consisting of two molecular weights: 33,000 and 54,000. Clinically, it is mainly used for acute myocardial infarction, acute cerebral thrombosis and cerebrovascular embolism, peripheral arteriovenous thrombosis in limbs, central retinal arteriovenous thrombosis, and other fresh thromboembolic diseases.
