When heated to 150℃, ammonium sulfite, sulfur, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and water are formed. It's very unstable in the air, it's stable in ammonia. It is almost completely decomposed at 150℃, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in alcohol and ether. Long standing its aqueous solution will have sulfur precipitation, concentrated aqueous solution at more than 50℃ will gradually decompose.
