For example, adamantane reacts with excess bromine to produce 1-bromadamantane; React with nitrogen dioxide at 175 ℃ to produce 1-nitroadamantane; Oxidize with chromium trioxide and acetic acid to produce 1-adamantol. Its derivatives can be used as drugs, for example, 1-aminoadamantane hydrochloride and 1-adamantane ethylamine hydrochloride can prevent and treat influenza caused by A2 virus.
