Abstract:?Liposomes are advanced nutraceutical delivery systems renowned for their ability to enhance pharmacokinetics, improve bioavailability, and enable targeted therapeutic interventions. This study focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of calcium-responsive liposomes developed by West Bengal Chemical Industries Ltd., Kolkata, India. These innovative formulations of liposomal calcium leverage the critical role of calcium in cellular processes to achieve controlled and precise nutraceutical release. Comprehensive analyses, including encapsulation characteristics, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), conirmed the liposomes' structural integrity, thermal stability, encapsulation eficiency (88%), and calcium assay (31.2% w/w). Accelerated stability studies revealed minimal leakage and robust performance under varying conditions, demonstrating their practicality for clinical use. Zeta potential (-30.67 mV), polydispersity index (0.2231), and particle size (142.5 nm) further validated their suitability for therapeutic applications. These indings underscore the potential of liposomal calcium in addressing conditions such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, and heavy metal detoxiication, marking a signiicant step forward in targeted nutraceutical delivery systems.
